Benvenuto! Welcome!

Welcome, or should I say Benvenuto, to my PETRINI family research blog. This is where I will share some of the things I learn as I follow my Italian roots. My journey through the Petrini family tree began relatively recently. While I have been researching my family tree for approximately fifteen years, I never thought I'd be able to cross the ocean and trace my Italian roots. That all changed about two years ago, when I learned I was eligible for dual Italian-American citizenship. I may discuss that portion of my journey in detail later, but for now the relevant part is that it became necessary to obtain a birth extract for my grandfather from his commune in Italy. From that I learned not only some facts about where he came from, but also that it is indeed possible to trace back into Italy! Follow me as I tell you more about how and what I learned....and am still learning.
