I hope everyone had a great holiday and got plenty of genealogy goodies! I spent a little time on Family Search trying to track down information on descendants and found some pretty good leads. I also spent some time cleaning up my family tree.
I also spent some time exploring my Genealogy software, Reunion for Mac. I knew it could create webpages, but I don't have a place to host these cards — or at least I thought I didn't. Then I remembered that just before I started working with Weebly, I'd applied for Freepages space. I think I might have actually known at the time that I could host an interactive family tree there. But there are so many pages created and I KNEW I didn't want to try to upload them one at a time! So off to create my page on Weebly I went, and gave up on Freepages.
Then yesterday I revisited Freepages yesterday and again went looking for a solution. I could see that there was a capability for FTP uploads, something I used to do long ago. But I no longer have an FTP client, the software I used way back when is no longer feee. I wasn't inclined to purchase one for something I may use only once...if at all. I went searching the support boards at Apple (my best friend when it comes to solving computer problems!) and someone recommended Cyberduck. I tried it, and it works!
All this is to say that I know have a PETRINI tree up on Freepages. It is pretty basic at the moment, as I treated it as a quick test. Eventually I will redo it with more information, but it is there and it is interactive. Go explore and let me know what you think! You can explore the page here.
And as always, if you have any information to contribute or other suggestions, contact me!
